Residential

Atlas Structural Commercial and Residential Foundation Repair, New Construction Foundations, Earth Retention, and Lighting Foundations CHANCE® anchors are rated up to 100,000 pounds each and are available in round or square shafts which are manufactured from galvanized steel. Special brackets are used to stabilize or lift foundations that are in need of repair. Atlas Master Companies is certified to install these pre-engineered and manufactured underpinning systems that are evaluated and listed by all the national building code agencies.

One of the most important things for you to do as a homeowner is to have a soil boring test completed on the area that we will be installing the anchors. This will determine how far down we will need to go in order to reach stable soil. Usually we will excavate a hole at each anchor location wide enough and deep enough to place a bracket under the foundation and the leading section of the anchor with the proper number and size of helices will be installed by a rotary installing machine. Extensions are added until the helices are at the proper depth and the predetermined torque is achieved. At that point the bracket is added, the load is transferred to the anchor, and the building can be stabilized or lifted according to the plan of repair.

Do you have foundation problems?
Here are some signs to look for:
  • Foundation walls that are buckled or bowed
  • Doors and windows that stick or don't open properly
  • Cracks in foundation walls
  • Cracks in exterior walls
  • Cracks in interior walls and ceilings
  • Sunken or buckled interior concrete floors

Basement Wall Repair

Basement walls can be repaired using helical screw anchors by drilling a small hole for the anchor rod to pass through the basement wall, and then excavating a hole outside to place the bearing plate. A small high torque motor then rotates the screw anchor system into the soil. Once depth and predetermined torque is achieved, the anchor is terminated and a plate is mounted inside the basement wall to hold the wall in place. If the wall needs to be moved, then sufficient soil must be removed to allow the wall to move.

The same screw anchors can be applied to undamaged basement walls to prevent future movement that can be caused by soil swells. Also, retaining walls can be implemented using screw anchors.

Remember that Chance® Helical Screw Anchors are proven and building code accepted.

Commercial/Industrial

Atlas Master Companies uses the Chance® Civil Construction deep foundation systems to provide high capacity piers/piles that stops settling and cracking of commercial and industrial structures. Selected by load requirements and soil conditions, the Chance® system offers capacities ranging to 120,000 pounds for each pier/pile.
